Run spousal, parent, child and sibling petitions, K-1 cases, adjustment, NVC processing, I-751 and I-601A waivers in one system built for immigration law firms.
Predefined family case types, created and maintained by active immigration lawyers, add forms, workflow steps and a document checklist when the case opens.
Enter petitioner and beneficiary data once. Autofill fills I-130, I-130A, I-485, I-864 and more, and Reverse Autofill saves edits back to the profile.
Track priority dates on F1, F2A, F2B, F3 and F4 cases so your team knows when a preference case can move to adjustment or NVC.
Clients upload civil documents to the checklist and see USCIS receipt numbers and case statuses in the portal. Your team gets alerts on changes.
Family-based immigration lets U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents petition for certain relatives to become permanent residents. Most cases start with Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative. Spouses, unmarried children under 21 and parents of U.S. citizens who are at least 21 are immediate relatives, and an immigrant visa is always available to them.
Other relatives fall into the family preference categories (F1, F2A, F2B, F3 and F4) and wait until the Visa Bulletin shows a visa available for their priority date. After the petition, a relative in the U.S. may adjust status on Form I-485 if eligible, while a relative abroad goes through NVC and consular processing. Fiancé(e)s of U.S. citizens use Form I-129F and the K-1 visa.
General information based on USCIS and other government guidance. Eligibility depends on each client’s facts; this is not legal advice.
Birth, marriage and divorce records for petitioners, beneficiaries and derivatives come in by email and text, and staff lose track of what is missing.
How Prima.Law helps: Each family case type adds a detailed, proven checklist built and maintained by active immigration lawyers. Clients upload straight to it in the portal and staff mark items complete.
The same names, addresses and histories go into the I-130, DS-260 and DS-160, and a USCIS or CEAC timeout can wipe out an hour of work.
How Prima.Law helps: Prepare data once in Prima.Law and the Chrome extension autofills the online I-130 and the DS-260 or DS-160 on CEAC. If a site slows or goes down, the data stays safe and is sent again.
Preference cases can wait years on the Visa Bulletin, and status changes, new addresses or a child turning 21 get missed along the way.
How Prima.Law helps: Priority date tracking for F1 to F4 cases, firm-wide USCIS receipt tracking with status change alerts, and saved Case Management Board views keep long-wait cases visible.
